Curriculum vitae

Andrea D’Alpaos is associate professor in the Department of Geosciences at the University of Padova (Italy), he has a Ph.D. in Hydrodynamics and Environmental Modelling, University of Padova (2005).

D’Alpaos’ research focuses on the mutual interactions and adjustments between physical and biological processes in coastal landscapes. His research on the biomorphodynamic evolution of coastal landscapes includes understanding, through field observations, laboratory experiments, and modeling, how biogeomorphic feedbacks contribute to shaping these landscapes and how they drive system response to changes in the environmental forcing and human interferences. He has been PI of the research project “Reading signatures of the past to predict the future: 1000 years of stratigraphic record as a key for the future of the Venice Lagoon”, Fondazione Cassa di Risparmio di Padova e Rovigo, 2012-2015. He has published 70 papers in peer-reviewed journals, more than 60 papers in the proceedings of Italian and international conferences, 6 book chapters, and has more than 140 abstracts presented in international conferences.
